As members of the body of Christ, we all have a God-given and valued role to play in our fellowship. We asked the people currently serving us as pastor and elders to tell you something about themselves below.
David has been pastor of MNC since the church was started in Sept. 2003. He trained at London Seminary from 1993-95, and then served as one of the pastors at Woodstock Road Baptist Church for 8 years. He is married to Hemara, who is Swiss/Sri Lankan, and they have six children. David’s parents were missionaries in South Korea and he is deeply grateful to God for the Christian upbringing they gave him. He loves every opportunity of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Helen is the church treasurer. As well as managing the church finances, she works as an accountant. She is married to Steve and they have two children. Helen loves to bake cakes, so everyone looks forward to when the prayer meeting is at their home.
Paul has been a member of MNC since it started in 2003, and became an elder soon after. He takes responsibility for the Sunday evening meetings. Paul is married to Ruth and they have three children. He is a maths teacher who loves his subject.
After studying in Oxford, Martin started his career in the railway industry in Derbyshire, where he was part of a church plant. He moved back to Oxford in 2008, keen to take the opportunity to be part of MNC. Martin preaches from time to time in the church, and teaches in Sunday School. He is married to Kim with two children, and also enjoys reading and cricket. He is the chair of governors at the Cherwell School.
